Your publisher and funder will only permit specific versions of your articles to be archived in CERES. There are three main versions of an article:
- Pre-print is a draft version that has not been peer reviewed or accepted for publication. We do not currently make this version public (although you may personally choose to do so).
- Author accepted manuscript (also known as post-print and AAM) is the version after peer review and final corrections have been made, but before publisher copyediting and typesetting. This is the version most publishers permit for Green Open Access, and so will be made publicly available. It should be a clean copy with no review highlighting, visible track changes or publisher logos, for a professional looking finish. What does a good AAM look like?
- Final published manuscript is the version as it appears in the journal. You are usually permitted to deposit this when you publish via Gold Open Access.
Important: wherever you choose to publish, as soon you receive confirmation that your work is going to be published, send the acceptance email and the relevant version of your paper
