Springer Nature Open Access charges: Important note to Cranfield authors

Please be careful when submitting an article to Springer Nature. Our current publisher deal covers the charges for most of their hybrid journals. However, if you publish in a fully open access journal with Springer Nature you will only get a 15% discount. You will need to ensure you have the means to pay for the rest of the charge. If you are in receipt of UKRI or industrial partner funding you can apply for help from the Library.

If you are unsure about your chosen journal, please do contact the Library Research Support Team.

We have been advised by several Cranfield researchers that Springer have been telling them they will have nothing to pay for fully open access journals. This is not correct, and we have subsequently received unexpected invoices. We are working with the publisher direct to stop this from happening, but please do check with the Library before submitting your article if you are in any doubt.
