Support for off-site customers

Most of our online resources are available from anywhere in the world. All you need is an internet connection. However, if you work or study off-site, we offer a service to help you access our printed stock as well. 

This service is available to all registered part-time students, full-time students who are on a placement, and academic staff primarily based off campus. 

We will post books and other printed materials to you

You can still borrow books, theses and reports from our stock if you can’t find them online.

We will post them to any UK or ROI address using the Royal Mail's Special Delivery service. You will need to sign for them when they arrive, so you might prefer to use your work address.

  • Please check that we have the item you want by using Library Search. To make a postal request: If the item is available for loan, simply email your request, your student ID number and your delivery address to: library@cranfield.ac.uk.
  • If the item is on loan to someone else, reserve it using Library Search and then change your account settings to let us know we should post it to you when it is returned. Go to Library Search > 'My Account' > "Personal Information" tab > "Preferred pickup library" > select POSTAGE. This will then be your default for all future reservations. Please make sure that we have the correct address for you.

You can mail books back to us or return them in person. To return books by mail, we recommend you use the same Special Delivery service or other registered post as you will be insured for any loss or damage. Items are your responsibility until they are safely returned to us. We will not post items to you if you live locally.

We will scan and email single journal articles, book chapters or conference papers

If you only need to read a single journal article, book chapter or conference paper from our stock (and it isn't available online), we can scan and email it to you.

Please check we hold the item in stock using Library Search first and then complete our online form: Scan it for me! Request an item to be scanned
