We are keen to continue providing a high quality experience to all our customers despite the new restrictions imposed by the Government on 4 January. Please be reassured that they will have little impact on the services we have been offering you since September.
Our services are subject to change so please check this page regularly for the most up-to-date information.
Library staff are available online to help with your research on weekdays, 9am-5pm. If we can't answer your question quickly by email we will arrange a video call with you to provide more in-depth support. Please contact us by email with your query.
You can also find our advice on referencing, research activities, and support for off-site students by using the Help and Support area linked to from the blue bar at the top of the screen.
As usual, you can still access the majority of our resources online 24/7 through our websites.
Click and Collect services will continue, but collection slots will be reduced to Monday, Wednesday and Friday only. Please wear a face mask at all times within the Library building.
You can reserve and request postal delivery of books and print items. The usual eligibility criteria for using our postal services have been relaxed, so if you are living away from the campus at the moment, please let us know when you reserve your item and we will post it to any UK, RoI or BFPO address. (We are sorry we are unable to post overseas.)
If you wish to return books, please contact email@example.com to arrange a postal return from a UK address (at no cost to yourself).
If you only need to read a single article, book chapter, or conference paper from our stock (and it isn't available online), we can scan and email it to you. We also recommend searching our collections for an eBook or other online alternatives.
Access to study space will continue at the Kings Norton Library. You must book in advance. Please wear a face mask at all times within the Library building. Spaces will be limited to the PC Hub on the ground floor during the lockdown and seating continues to meet social distancing guidelines. We are confident that this change will continue to meet the demand we have experienced.
If you need an item that isn’t part of our online collection we are still providing an interlibrary loans service, but can only supply online material. We are not able to provide books or printed items, as the libraries that supply them to us are closed or working at a reduced capacity.
You can also Suggest a purchase (for online material only at this time).
You must wear a face mask at all times within the Kings Norton Library. Only visit if you are using the Click and Collect service or have booked study space.
