All new students will be have a timetabled session with their Information Specialist. We recommend you attend so that we can introduce you to our services and resources, and you can get the best start to your studies.
Watch our induction playlist on YouTube to get an overview of our services, and find out how to log in to our resources from off-campus, use Library Search and request an interlibrary loan.
We run a range of courses to help you make best use of our resources. They are all listed on the University’s DATES system. To see forthcoming courses, go to DATES and filter the ‘Course type’ on the right hand side to ‘Library’ only.
Please work through our Discovering Quality Information eLearning or open the transcript (pdf) and do the quiz before coming along to your Discovering Quality Information session, which you will find in your course timetable.
After you’ve finished, you will know about the different types of information you will need to use for your studies at Cranfield, and when they are useful. This means that in the face-to-face session we’ll be able to concentrate on learning how to search our resources effectively.
Our Referencing and Avoiding Plagiarism eLearning module explains the role and importance of citing bibliographic references, and how you incorporate the work of other authors into your literature review correctly, and without plagiarising.
