Postal and scanning services for print materials

We know that staff and students based off-site have different needs to those on site. Our postal and scanning services are available to all registered part-time and online students, full-time students on a placement, and academic staff primarily based off campus.

Postal delivery and returns

To make a postal request:

We will post items to any UK or ROI address using the Royal Mail's Special Delivery service as long as you do not live locally.

  • Find and reserve the item you want in Library Search
  • If the item is available (not on loan), please email your request, student ID, and delivery address to library@cranfield.ac.uk
  • If the item is on loan to another customer, make sure you have reserved the item on Library Search then change your account settings to let us know we should post it to you when it is return:
    • Go to Library Search > My Account > 'Personal Information' tab > Preferred pickup library > select 'POSTAGE'. This will then be your default for all future reservations.
    • Please make sure we have the correct address for you.

Return books by post:

If you are ready to return items to us, you can either bring them back to the library (if you live nearby) or contact library@cranfield.ac.uk to arrange a free postal return from any UK address.

Scan it for me! Request an item

If you only need to read a single article, book chapter, or conference paper from our stock (and it isn't available online), we can scan and email it to you. Please check we hold the item in stock using Library Search first, and then complete our online form: Scan it for me! Request an item to be scanned.
