Rules and regulations

  • You are responsible for the items you borrow. Please respect our loan periods and return books to us when they are due. Do not borrow stock on behalf of others or take it out of the country.
  • You must comply with our conditions of use when you use any of the eResources to which we subscribe: Our eResources: Conditions of use
  • Do not leave computers unattended in ‘locked’ mode for longer than 15 minutes.
  • Children under the age of 5 are not permitted beyond the ground floor of the Library due to reasons of health and safety. All children under 16 must be supervised by an adult.
  • Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the building, or within 3 metres of the revolving doors.
  • Hot food is not allowed. You are welcome to bring cold food, and hot and cold drinks, but please be careful with them and use the waste bins provided.
  • Guide dogs and hearing dogs are welcome, but otherwise animals are not allowed.
  • Do not leave personal possessions, such as bags or mobile devices, unattended.
  • Work in the area of the library that most suits your needs. If you create noise and disturb others we may ask you to be quiet, or to move to a more appropriate area of the building.
