COVID-19 service update

April 2021

Our services are subject to change so please check this page regularly for the most up-to-date information.

Help and support

Library staff are available online to help with your research on weekdays, 9am-5pm.

You can also find our advice on referencing, research activities, and support for off-site students by using the Help and Support area.

Online resources

As usual, you can still access the majority of our resources online 24/7 through our websites.

Books and print materials

Click and Collect services will continue with collection slots on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 12.30-1.30pm. As Barrington Library is closed to customers, you will need to collect items from the Library porch.

You can reserve and request postal delivery of books and print items. If you only need to read a single article, book chapter, or conference paper from our stock (and it isn't available online), we can scan and email it to you. We also recommend searching our collections for an eBook or other online alternatives.

All existing loans will be extended until Barrington Library re-opens unless your course finishes or your books have been requested by another customer. (We will notify you by email if this is the case). This includes Barrington Reports loans - please ignore any overdue notices from the Reports Section.

If you wish to return books, please contact library.barrington@cranfield.ac.uk to arrange a postal return from a UK address (at no cost to yourself) or return items to Visitor Reception at the Shrivenham site main entrance (there is a returns box labelled 'Cranfield Library Returns').

Study space

Barrington Library is not yet able to reopen so study spaces will be unavailable.

Interlibrary loans and other requests

If you need an item that isn’t part of our online collection we are now able to accept requests for print interlibrary loans again. Please be patient as they may take longer to arrive due to staffing reductions at other libraries and quarantine measures.
