We are delighted that we are able to reopen Barrington Library from 12-2pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Monday 14 June. Please read our advice before you visit.
You will be able to use the Library as a study space again, but you will need to book your seat in advance and make a note of the seat number you have chosen. You will then need to check in when you arrive using the link in your confirmation email. There will be no access to University PCs, wifi, or printing, so please expect a distraction-free environment and bring your own device.
Our Click and Collect service times will be extended to match our opening hours. You will be able to come into the Library to pick up items rather than collecting them from the porch.
As usual, you can still access the majority of our resources online 24/7 through our website.
Library staff are available online to help with your research on weekdays, 9am-5pm.
You can also find our advice on referencing, research activities, and support for off-site students by using the Help and Support area.
You can reserve and request postal delivery of books and print items. If you only need to read a single article, book chapter, or conference paper from our stock (and it isn't available online), we can scan and email it to you. We also recommend searching our collections for an eBook or other online alternatives.
All existing loans will be extended until Barrington Library re-opens unless your course finishes or your books have been requested by another customer. (We will notify you by email if this is the case). This includes Barrington Reports loans - please ignore any overdue notices from the Reports Section.
If you wish to return books, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a postal return from a UK address (at no cost to yourself) or return items to Visitor Reception at the Shrivenham site main entrance (there is a returns box labelled 'Cranfield Library Returns').
If you need an item that isn’t part of our online collection we are now able to accept requests for print interlibrary loans again. Please be patient as they may take longer to arrive due to staffing reductions at other libraries and quarantine measures.
